EXPERIENCING EXCELLENCE
At the Captains & Crew Lounge, Maison del Gusto created a moment of encounter devoted to Korean temple cuisine, restraint and knowledge passed on through gesture.
Amid the movement of the Monaco Yacht Show, one encounter proposed another measure of luxury: attention.
In September 2025, Maison del Gusto welcomed Ven. Jeong Kwan to the Captains & Crew Lounge for an intimate masterclass devoted to Korean temple cuisine.
The encounter brought together cooking, tasting and conversation around season, fermentation and patience. It extended the ambition of Experiencing Excellence: to bring chefs, producers, crews and hospitality professionals into contact with living knowledge.
A cuisine founded on restraint.
Ven. Jeong Kwan’s practice begins with observation: the season, the life of the ingredient, the time required and what there is no need to add.
Within the setting of the Monaco Yacht Show, this approach offered a precise contrast. The masterclass did not seek demonstration. It invited participants to look differently at vegetables, fermented preparations and the responsibility of the cook.

What the encounter left behind
Knowledge stays useful when it keeps accompanying the product and the practice.
Experiencing Excellence does not treat the event as a parenthesis. The masterclass becomes a resource: an account, images, recipes and reference points that make it possible to return to the ingredient after the show.
For Maison del Gusto, this continuity connects the encounters to the daily work of culinary sourcing: a better understanding of an origin, a method and the use a chef can make of it.
