Ageing	The Whisky has been matured in carefully selected ex-Bourbon casks and then finished in Teak casks. It was allowed to mature in an old, underground NATO storage, as well as a modern viking longhouse. The temperature variations are vast, with an average, yearly temperature of only 0,6 °C.

The Bivrost distillery stands as a testament to Norway's rich heritage, crafting an impressive range of spirits that includes Norwegian single malt whisky, gin, aquavit, vodka, and beyond. Rooted in ancient Norse tradition, the distillery draws its name from the fusion of two Old Norse words. 'Biv,' signifying 'shaking,' and 'rost,' translating to 'road' or 'path.' Together, these words create 'Bivrost,' capturing the essence of the Northern Lights, often referred to as the dancing or shaking lights in Viking mythology. This celestial spectacle, representing a shimmering path in the night sky, serves as the inspiration behind the distillery's name. With this deep connection to Norse heritage, the Bivrost distillery pays homage to the Vikings' awe-inspiring natural wonders through its meticulously crafted spirits, each bottle encapsulating the spirit of the Northern Lights in every sip.
