Flor de Sal d'Es Trenc is a gourmet salt produced by the Mallorcan company, Gusto Mundial Balearides, which was launched in 2003 by Katja Wöhr. The salt is harvested from the Salinas de Levante pans next to the beach of Es Trenc. Dubbed the “caviar of salts”, the range includes blends devised by Michelin star chef, Marc Fosh, such as a Sri Lanka curry mix. The business concept earned Katja an “Innovative Project” award in 2003 from the Majorcan municipality of Calvià and, at Gulfood 2010, Flor de Sal d'Es Trenc won Best New Health Food award.
